Nebraska Masonic Home Foundation Sources

The Nebraska Masonic Home is a private, non-profit, continuing care retirement community supported by all Nebraska Masons, friends of The Nebraska Masonic Home and The Nebraska Masonic Home Foundation.

A fifteen member Board of Trustees prudently manage its income and assets and govern The Home.

Income is derived from an assessment each year from every Nebraska Mason as a part of their annual dues to their lodge. Regular way residents' Social Security benefits and pension checks or rent from those on the pay basis plan are used to operate the Home.

For many years Nebraska Masons have been encouraged to remember The Nebraska Masonic Home in their wills.

"There's compassion here. I think it's a unique and wonderful place. It's Masonry at its highest level."

Members of the Fraternity and family members have responded very positively and have always provided funds to make up any shortfall of other income. The Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Scottish Rite, York Rite, Shrine Temples and clubs are among the many Masonic affiliated groups that make substantial contributions to The Home each year. Nearly every year there is a fund drive either for a special project or to be set aside for those times when expenses exceed income. The Home depends heavily on The Nebraska Masonic Home Foundation to meet the annual operating budget.

Masons have always had an obligation to aid and assist other Freemasons, their wives, widows, mothers, sisters, daughters, grandmothers, and granddaughters. The Nebraska Masonic Home depends on the support of all Masons in Nebraska to provide the outstanding care, which residents deserve and have come to expect from The Nebraska Masonic Home.
